Gardening Club Request – Our gardening club is up and running again this year. If you have any hand tools, shovels, rakes, picnic table, benches, pots, mulch, cedar planks (for garden beds), chicken wire/deer fencing, garden stakes, etc.  that you could donate to our program please contact the office. We appreciate your support!

Monday

Dragon’s Den – Creative writing club meets in the main computer lab at lunch

Chess Club – all students welcome to learn to play or hone your skills at lunch today in Project Room (right beside main computer lab)

Heavy Metal Concert – All grade seven classes will be walking to Ed Macgregor Park today to enjoy the sounds of “heavy metal” in the Band Shell. Families are welcome to attend 1:30-2:30 pm. If it rains we will stay at school and enjoy the music in the gym.

Girls & Boys’ rugby practice today after school 3-4:30

Tuesday

Badminton practice 7:30 am and at lunch

Integrated Support Swim Program – 10 am this morning @ SEAPARC

Student Council Meeting – today at lunch in Mme. Abell’s classroom.

Homework Club for Divs. 8 & 12 @ lunch rm. # 1166

Presentation – Bertha Landrie will be in Mme. Bouvier’ s class from 9-10 for a presentation on Metis culture.

Wednesday

PAC Food Day – Pizza today. Drinks and other goodies also for sale. Volunteers are needed. Please contact the school if you can lend a hand for an hour at least once per month.

Kleco Kleco – Pacheedaht Elder, Bill Jones will be visiting us one last time this school year. We would like to extend our appreciation to Elder Jones for passing on his wisdom and knowledge to our staff and students.

Thursday

National Day of Mourning – Today we will raise the Canary Flag to honour and remember workers whom have lost their lives while at work. We will have a brief ceremony at 8:15 am at the flag pole.

Creamsicles on sale today at lunch for $2 each

Exploratories – Bring the supplies and equipment you need. Exploratories are as important as any other subject and are an important part of middle school. You can’t get on the honour or effort role if you don’t attend and try your best.

Friday

Sooke Dance Studio – performs for us today 9 a.m. in the gym. We always look forward to seeing our students, previous students and future students present their talent for us!

Freezie Sales at lunch today $1 each

Opening Night – Ms. Nadeau’s class is holding a photography exhibit at Serious Coffee in Sooke. The exhibit is called “Our Eyes. Our Story” and has been a project students have worked very hard on. They have learned and practiced photography techniques in an effort to tell a story through the lens. They have also prepared some creative some of the musical talent in the class as well. The community is invited to stop by 6-8 pm. Thank you to Serious Coffee for sponsoring this event all week.
