Home / School News / This Week @ Journey June 20-24

Our final full week at Journey is here! There is still work to hand in and activities planned over the next seven school days. Activities and field trips are as important as sitting at a desk writing so students are expected to be at school. In fact, some activities aimed at the social and emotional needs of students are often some of the most important for students to feel successful. You can better support your child if they are asking to stay home, or for a note to get out of school early, by encouraging them to stay in class. Our school counsellor is on hand to assist any students/parents who are feeling overwhelmed at this transitional time.

Congratulations to our Rock ‘n’ Roll students who performed on Friday for the whole school. That takes and talent and determination! Wow, we’ve got talent! Thanks to all the students who performed, parents who attended and Mr. Hopkins and Mr. Hopkins for making this all happen for us!

Thanks to our PAC! The last meeting of the year was filled with congratulations, delicious food and beverages. Our PAC was responsible for funding many programs, $200 toward each classroom for field trips, Year-end BBQ and moral support! The first PAC Meeting of the new school year is September 13th at 7 pm in the Journey Library.

Staffing/Class Configuration – every year we have to say goodbye to some staff and also welcome new staff to Journey for the new school year. We wish all of our staff well at their new schools. Students have been placed in classes for next year. This of course can change right up until the first week of school.
