Late French Immersion – We are excited to offer Late French Immersion at Journey for the 2017-18 school year. Students currently in grade five at our elementary schools will be eligible to register beginning Monday, January 23. Parents can register online or in person at Journey. There will be an information meeting for families at Journey on Wednesday, January 18 at 6:30 pm in the gym. Please help spread the word!

Exploratories – Exploratory forms were given out on Friday and are also available on our website under Programs/Exploratories. We will begin accepting forms and fees (if applicable for first choice) on Tuesday, January 10. Students should NOT hand in forms to any staff other than those in the foyer Tuesday morning or the office. Waiver forms (if applicable are due by January 19).

Community Opportunity – The Tyee Aquatic Club has expanded at SEAPARC!  If you can swim a 1 km practice (40 lengths), and know the basics of all four strokes join the pre-competitive Tyee program! Achieve an amazing level of fitness, learn to swim farther faster, and experience how rewarding this sport is on an individual and team basis! Practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30. Exploratories – bring signed forms and fees (if applicable and only for first choice) to the foyer today. Waiver forms, if applicable, do not have to be handed in today (Due date January 19)

Jazz band 8:30 a.m. in the band room.

Tea Time in Foyer – students can enjoy a free cup of tea today at recess. Students are encouraged to bring their own mugs.

Sk8 Club today @ lunch (weather permitting). Waivers must be in to Mr. Donegani or Mr. Kovacik to be eligible to participate (forms are in the office)

Culture Club – meet at lunch outside Ab Ed room

Div. 9/10 Homework Club – Ms. Kilpatrick’s classroom at lunch

Divisions 1 & 2 Math Support – at lunch in Mr. Constable’s room

Div. 11 – Homework Support at lunch in Ms. Dvorak’s room

Div. 11 Math Club – after school 3-4 p.m. in Ms. Dvorak’s room

PAC Meeting – tonight in Journey’s Annie Acreman Library @ 7 pm. Find out what’s happening and give your input into decisions made by PAC volunteers and school staff. Everything from what to serve for lunch to Late French Immersion! Your voice is important and valued.

Wednesday – PAC Lunch today is Pizza “VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HELP WITH THE LUNCHES. Please come to the main foyer at 11:30am if you can help. Thank you!”

Lego builders club – meets at lunch in Ms. Dvorak’s room. Everyone welcome

Thursday

Journey to Japan – This year we will welcome 22 students to visit Sooke and our school from March 30-April 3. If you are interested in finding out more please attend the meeting at lunch today in Ms. Dvorak’s room to find out what we’ve got planned to show off our community and build friendships with our neighbours across the ocean. Learn more about how to be involved.

Robotics Club – Interested in learning more about Robotics? Come to Ms. Dvorak’s room afterschool today from 3-4 pm and have some fun!

Volleyball Practice – Boys in grades 6 & 7 interested in playing volleyball on our school team this year have a practice afterschool from 3-4 in the gym.
